Everything you need before you buy, and everything your electrician needs on the day.
Trailing-edge dimming is fussy about drivers. This is what we have tested on the Dial D1. Anything under about 3 W needs the bypass capacitor that ships in the box.
| Load | Range | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Mains-dimmable LED lamp | 5 to 400 W | Full range |
| LED lamp, single fitting | 3 to 5 W | Full range with bypass |
| LED strip, trailing-edge driver | 10 to 300 W | Full range |
| LED strip, leading-edge driver | any | Not supported |
| Halogen and incandescent | 25 to 400 W | Full range |
| Low-voltage, magnetic transformer | any | Not supported |
| Non-dimmable LED | any | Switching only |
Flicker at the bottom of the range is nearly always the driver, not the dimmer. Set the low trim in the app before returning anything.
